Ser mamá no es abandonarte, también es darte espacios dedicados a ti.

Being a mom, also being a woman: a morning of Pilates among us

We were recently invited to an event planned with them in mind: moms and pregnant women. The event took place at Ocho Pilates Malé, alongside a brand of oils and self-tanners and another of baby wraps. We arrived as a sponsoring brand, providing clothing for all guests, dressed in pieces from our Ecos de Movimiento collection.

The idea: a space to reconnect with oneself

When motherhood arrives, the body, time, and routines reorganize around another person. We organized the morning to remember the opposite: besides being mothers and preparing to be mothers, they are women. Those personal spaces, those that are just for them, are valuable and should not be forgotten.

That's why the class, the conversations, the delicious snacks, and, yes, also the clothes.

Ecos de Movimiento: a collection that breathes with the body

Before the event, we asked each guest for their size. We wanted to dress them in pieces from Ecos de Movimiento, a collection we designed for diverse bodies, including plus sizes, where we know it's still hard to find well-fitting options in sportswear.

The star of the day was a piece from the collection: the Omega Legging. What we discovered that morning was a pleasant surprise: it also works incredibly well during pregnancy. Three reasons:

  • Soft, low-compression fabric, without uncomfortable pressure on sensitive areas.
  • Mid-rise waistband, not high: it can be lowered to sit on the hips when the belly needs space, or pulled up a little to cover the navel. The fabric stretches with the body.
  • Adaptable fit: everyone adjusted it their own way and everyone looked and felt good.

For mothers who had already had their babies, we added tops and other pieces from the same collection. Different fits, same color codes, all coordinated, so that the morning set felt calm and harmonious, without mixing with more vibrant lines of the brand.

How the morning unfolded

The class was taught according to each person's fitness level: the pace adjusted to how they were feeling, without demands. There was conversation about pregnancies, about motherhood, about the challenges of raising children and continuing to be a person. There was laughter. There were snacks. There were photos that show what that morning was: comfortable, present, and beautiful women.

What we took away

If you are pregnant, postpartum, or far from either but wanting to reconnect with your body, this is what we felt that morning and want to pass on to you:

  1. Clothes should not fight with your body. If they do, they are not the right garment for this moment.
  2. Spaces just for you are not a luxury. They are part of taking care of yourself so you can take care of others.
  3. Adapted movement trumps demanding movement. Whatever your body can do today is enough.
